Gabby continues to simply amaze us with her strength. She is now slowly coming off donor breast milk ( I know sounds gross-but trust me it is safe and pasteurized) and switching to formula. After my infection and the stress of possibly losing her my milk supply dried up.
She remains in a air controlled incubator. This is due to preemies not being able to control their body temp. I am told that she is getting close to switching to an open crib!! She has to maintain her own body heat , which doesnt sound hard but when you are 3 pounds that's the last thing you want to do!
I got to hold her today for over 3 hours!! I cant put it in to words what it feels like to get to hold her. We are limited on only holding her once a day, due to the stress of taking her in and out of the incubator. So when we are able to hold her we cherish every minute. It just stinks when you really have to pee after 3 hours!!
Thank you for your continued prayers. please continue to pray for healing for Gabby. She has a long road ahead of her, but is getting through it!! God bless you all.

Tiff it doesn't sound gross at all! How awesome that after your milk dried up someone donated milk! I know many many babies who have thrived on donor milk! Let me know if you want some information on how to keep using it. Gabby is so beautiful <3 I love these updates. Thank you for sharing her with us. I love you guys!

good morning tiffany! My name is Kara and i have premie twins. I'm also a volunteer for Grady's Decision. My twins were born at 27 and 2. They were 2 lbs and 2 lbs 1 oz. We spent 59 and 61 days in the NICU. They will be one on June 29. If you'd every like to talk to someone who has gone through the NICU life I'd love to talk to you. Hello love, My name is Stephany Exley. I heard about Gabby's story through Grady's Decision. I know its awkward when people you dont know contact you but I wanted to reach out and let you know that you can talk to me about all of the insanity that the NICU life causes. My 25 week preemie twins are still in the NICU and we have been fighting since March 12th. 103 days today! So if you have questions or concerns or just want to have someone to complain about things with, I'm your girl! I have met several moms through Grady's Decision and I think the best part of the organization is the bonds that are formed between the moms. And you'll fit right in with us.
